Media release: CANBERRA, SYDNEY PROTESTS AGAINST ADANI’S INDIA DESTRUCTION
Today’s protests by the Bob Brown Foundation outside the Indian High Commission in Canberra and consulate in Sydney are highlighting Gautam Adani’s destruction of tribal land forests in Central India.
“This billionaire brute is smashing down wildlife-filled forest of the Gond people who are amongst the poorest in India. After assurances in 2009 that the forest would be protected forever, Adani is now set to bulldoze the Gond people’s forest to get atthe coal beneath,” Bob Brown said in Canberra today.
Water Plan Approval is Corrupted Process - Brown
The Queensland government’s water approval for the Adani mine is the outcome of a corrupted process, Bob Brown said today.
“Independent science shows Gautam Adani’s coal extraction will most likely lead to the death of the Doongmabulla Springs, sacred to the Wangan and Jagalingou people, but here are the powers-that-be giving it a tick. As they gave the impending extinction of the Black-throated Finch a tick two weeks ago,” Brown said.

Adani’s invasion of the central Indian forests
Bob Brown Foundation will hold a public gathering outside the Indian High Commission in Canberra on Saturday 15 June to protest Gautam Adani’s plan to desecrate an Indian forest for coal.

Loggers and thugs attack protest camp in Tasmania’s Tarkine
In a frightening attack, a group of men terrorised a volunteer last night at the Bob Brown Foundation Tarkine protest blockade.
A protest blockade has been in place since September 2018 in the Tarkine’s ancient Sumac rainforest, threatened by logging. The rainforest has remained intact due to the peaceful occupation by hundreds of volunteers and Foundation campaign staff over the last eight months.
