Take a stand for Lapoinya and for Earth
The Lapoinya forest is home to the world's largest freshwater crayfish and the beleaguered Tasmanian Devil.
Yet it will cost Tasmanian taxpayers up to $200,000 to clearfell this forest and burn it, wiping out its wildlife and breaking the hearts of the local community.
Bob visited Lapoinya to support the courageous locals who have been battling to save their forest. Once he saw the destruction being wrought on the forest he decided he could not turn away.
"That's right officer, I'm here for the forest, they're here to destroy it." Bob Brown
Bob and the locals who have been arrested at Lapoinya now face harsh penalties under Tasmania's draconian new anti-protest laws. But this will not stop brave people from taking a stand against this destruction.
